Because You Have the Opportunity
Hi there,
This week looked a little different than most.
Instead of our normal routines, my family found ourselves spending time at Ronald McDonald House Charities while my son recovered from sinus surgery.
And I have to say… I was humbled.
What could have been a stressful, overwhelming (and very expensive) situation was met with generosity, care, and support in a way I didn’t expect. A place to stay. A sense of comfort. One less thing to worry about during a time when your focus is exactly where it should be—on your child.
It felt like, and it was, a gift.
And every family here has reciprocated that generosity and truly shown their appreciation for it.
It got me thinking…
This is what this time of year, this holy week in several religions, is really about.
Not just in a spiritual sense, but also in a human one.
We are given things in life—sometimes quietly, sometimes unexpectedly—that support us, carry us, and remind us we’re not doing this alone.
Opportunities.
Moments.
People.
Even challenges that shape us.
And one of the greatest gifts we’re given?
Our bodies.
Strong. Capable. Resilient. Adaptable.
Not perfect—but incredibly powerful.
So maybe the message this Easter isn’t about doing more…
Maybe it’s about recognizing what’s already been given to you—and choosing to honor it.
Taking care of your body.
Moving it.
Fueling it.
Listening to it.
Showing appreciation for it.
Not because you “have to”… but because you get to.
Because the greatest form of gratitude is what you do with what you’ve been given.
Wishing you a meaningful, peaceful Easter—and maybe a moment to pause and recognize the quiet gifts in your own life.
xoxo,
