I Skipped Last Week — And That’s the Point

Last Sunday, I skipped writing my newsletter.

Not intentionally.

Not dramatically.

I just… forgot.

It was a full weekend, and Sunday night was spent exactly where I wanted to be—with my family, unwinding, enjoying the moment. By the time I realized it, the day was over.

So here we are.

And no—this does not mean I won’t write one this Sunday. (You’re reading it right now!)

It simply means I took a day off.

I’m sharing this because it mirrors something I see all the time in health, fitness, and lifestyle change.

You miss a workout…

and suddenly it feels like, “Well, I’ve already blown it.”

You have an off day with food…

and the voice creeps in: “What’s the point now?”

That’s the all-or-nothing mindset talking—and it’s sneaky.

One skipped workout isn’t failure.

One off day of eating isn’t falling off the wagon.

One missed habit isn’t the end of your progress.

It’s a pause in momentum.

A recovery day.

Sometimes even a necessary breather so you have the stamina to keep going.

Progress isn’t built by never missing a step.

It’s built by getting really good at stepping back in.

You don’t need to “start over.”

You don’t need to punish yourself.

You don’t need a perfect Monday or a clean slate.

You just need to show up again.

So if you skipped the gym this week—go back tomorrow.

If yesterday didn’t look the way you hoped—today still counts.

If you fell off track—there’s nothing stopping you from getting right back into the groove.

Momentum isn’t lost by resting.

It’s lost when we decide a moment defines the whole journey.

And this Sunday?

I’m right back here—writing, sharing, and moving forward.

Just like you can be too. 💛

Xoxo,

Kim
