The Secret to Staying on Track This Holiday Season and Beyond

Hi friends,

This week the season of parties, concerts, treats, traditions, travel, and… temptation really kicks in to high gear. And every year, people ask me the same question:

“How do I stay on track with my health when everything around me feels designed to pull me off?”

My answer is always the same:

You don’t rely on discipline. You rely on motivation.

When you know why you’re doing something — deeply, personally, un-shakeably — it becomes so much easier to make the choices that align with your goals.

Maybe your “why” is…

Wanting more energy
Feeling strong and confident in your body
Preventing holiday weight gain
Reducing stress and inflammation
Entering the New Year already proud of the work you've done
Being a healthier parent, partner, or example

Your motivation is your anchor — especially this time of year.

So here’s a simple practice to follow these next few weeks:

1. Start every morning by reminding yourself of your “why.”

Write it, speak it, or keep it on your lock screen. When your motivation is top-of-mind, your choices follow.

2. Lead with healthy food first.

If your “why” includes being healthy, then fuel yourself like someone who is committed to health.

Before the party, the meeting, the cookie exchange, or the school event…

Eat something nourishing first.

Protein, fiber, hydration — these help keep your blood sugar stable, cravings lower, and choices clearer.

This isn’t restriction.

This is alignment — choosing what supports you before you’re swept into what’s simply available.

3. Celebrate your follow-through.

Not perfection.

Not willpower.

Just the moments where you honored your motivation.

The holidays don’t have to derail you. In fact, the holidays can be the time you prove to yourself just how capable and committed you are.

Remember Oprah’s words:

“Running is the greatest metaphor for life. You get out of it what you put into it.”

Your effort creates your outcome — and this season is full of opportunities to put in the kind of effort that will make you proud.

You've got this. And I’m here cheering you on every step of the way.

xoxo,

Kim
