The First Snow, a New Season, and a New kind of Self-Care

Sunday morning, the very first snow of the season started to fall while I was sitting outside in the hot tub. Big white flakes floating down onto quiet trees — the world looked different in an instant.

And as I watched the season change right in front of me, I found myself reflecting on a few things.

Lately, I haven’t been in church on Sunday mornings.
Instead, I’ve been taking that time to commune with God and nature in my own way — out in the cold air, warm water, quiet conversations with my husband, and moments to rest, listen, reset, and refocus.

There was something sacred about being fully present for the start of this new season.

It made me realize that self-care shifts just like the weather.
In some seasons, we feed our bodies, our goals, our adventures, our careers, even our pocketbooks.
But this season feels different.
This one feels like it’s about feeding our soul and spirit — through connection, through slowing down, through community.

I’m grateful for the rest and for the conversations.
I’m grateful for connection and the reminder that we were never meant to do life alone.

And as we come into the holiday season, a season full of gathering and community, I want to encourage all of us to support each other’s goals, dreams, and well-being — inside and out.

One way I can support you is by helping make sure this holiday season is not only full of joy and celebration, but also a season of caring for your body.
Over the next several weeks, I’ll be sending my subscribers simple ways to stay healthy, stay energized, and stay grounded — while still enjoying everything the season brings.

Here’s to a winter filled with warmth, connection, and wellness — body, mind, and soul.

I’m grateful to share this season with you.
